A lot of people will use these to move trailers around. If you've got a tight space on your property and you can't quite get it in with backing the trailer in, you can always hook up a ball mount to the front of your hitch and pull it in forward. Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Colorado- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the CURT front hitch trailer receiver on a 2020 Chevy Colorado. Now this is what the front hitch is gonna look like on the front of the Colorado and it sits fairly far recessed back and there's a little bit of trimming on the air dam, but overall it looks fairly clean. The receiver tube opening is gonna be a two inch by two inch, which is gonna be great for a bunch of different accessories. You're gonna have tons of options whether you're planning on putting a winch, a bike rack, cargo carrier or even maybe a snowplow. There's plenty of those available in a two inch configuration. All of them are gonna stay in place with a 5/8 pin and clip. more

A few reasons of why people install front mount hitches on their trucks is you may wanna haul a bike rack on the front or a cargo carrier, maybe a front mount winch or something that might surprise you is even a snowplow on the front. Now as far as weight capacity goes for this hitch you're gonna have a 500 pound max tongue weight capacity which is the downward pressure on the inside of the receiver tube. This comes in handy if you are using those bike racks or cargo carriers. You wanna be sure to not overload the front mount hitch. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Draw-Tite Front hitch receiver on a 2018 Chevy Silverado 2500. Now your front hitch is gonna be a two inch by two inch, which means that there's gonna be plenty of options available as far as either putting a ball mount, a winch, a cargo carrier, or a bike rack. Now all of these accessories are gonna stay in place with a 5/8 pin and clip. Now this is not included with the front hitch, but a lot of times your accessories will come with one. Now if you want to pick up an extra or a locking one, we have those available here at etrailer, and that way you can leave your accessories loaded on, locked in place, and no one can walk away with them. No matter what accessory you're gonna be loading up, you do want to adhere to the weight capacities and if you're using a winch, this does have a line pull of 9,000 pounds, but all of your cargo weight or anything that's gonna be supported on your front hitch like your cargo carriers, or bike racks, or winches, are going to have a 500 pound capacity. more

Now this is what the front hitch is gonna look like when it's installed. And it does require some trimming to get this nice, clean look, but really it sits really well on the front bumper. And the recommendations as far as cutting goes, they've done a fine job of really making this nice and clean and you still have the air dam that goes under. Front Mount Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 - Curt- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're going to be installing Curt's Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C31071.This is what our hitch is going to look like when it's installed. As you can see, it's tucked up underneath our front bumper, so you're really only going to be able to see the receiver tube and it's tucked back far enough where you almost don't even notice it's there. It's got a 2" x 2" receiver end, so it'll work with any of your favorite accessories such as winch plates, snow plows, or over-the-bed extenders. It uses a 5/8" hitch pin and clip. One doesn't come included, but you can pick one up here at etrailer.com with part number PC3.It has a 500 pound tongue weight, a 5000 pound gross towing capacity, and a 9000 pound straight line pull. Best 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Front Hitch Options- Video

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best front hitch options for you 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. Up top we've got the Curt, part number C31071. Then on the bottom we got the Draw Tite, part number 65068. The biggest difference that we're going to see between these two hitches is going to be when mounted on the truck where the receiver tube is going to be located. On the Draw Tite, it's going to give us a higher ground clearance, and it's going to come further out towards the front of the bumper, so it's going to give us more clearance with our accessories away from that front bumper. We've got a Curt mounted on this truck here and as you can see it comes out nicely underneath the fascia to where it's tucked up tight. The Draw Tite would come out up here right about the center of the license plate bracket, and so if you do have a license plate on the front of your truck, it would need to be relocated. There are a couple of different options. You can get the Draw Tite fixed bracket, part number 5443, or the Draw Tite fold down license plate bracket, part number 8802. There's going to be benefits to each hitch, because of where they come out, and the clearance that they give us depending on the accessories that you're going to be using. more

Best 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Front Hitch Options- Video

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best front hitch options for your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. Up top we've got the Curt Part# C31071. Then on the bottom we've got the Draw Type Part# 65078. The biggest difference that we're going to see between these two hitches, is going to be one mounted on the truck where the receiver tube is going to be located. On the Draw Type it's going to give us a higher ground clearance. It's going to come further out towards the front of the bumper. It's going to give us more clearance with out accessories away from that front bumper. We've got a Curt mounted on this truck here. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best front hitch options for your 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. Up top we got the Curt, part number C31071. On the bottom we got the Draw-Tite, part number 65068. The biggest difference that we're going to see between these two hitches is going to be when mounted on the truck, where the receiver tube is going to be located. On the Draw-Tite, it's going to give us a higher ground clearance and it's going to come further out towards the front of the bumper, so it's going to give us more clearance with our accessories away from that front bumper. We got a Curt mounted on this truck here and as you can see it comes out nicely under the fascia to where it's tucked up tight. The Draw-Tite would come out up here, right about the center of the license plate bracket, so if you do have a license plate on the front of your truck, it would need to be relocated. There are a couple of different options. You can get the Draw-Tite fixed bracket, part number 5443, or the Draw-Tite fold down license plate bracket, part number 8802. more

Front Mount Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 - Curt- Video

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C31071. Here's what this front hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the truck. As you can see, it tucks up nicely to the underside of this front fascia down here. You're going to have really easy access in order to use your hitch with any accessories that you may have. It features a 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening with nice welded on reinforcement collar. It features the 5/8 inch hitch pin hole in order to secure any class 3 accessories. This front hitch is a nice, easy bolt on application. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we're going to be taking a look at, and also showing you how to install, the CURT front mounted trailer hitch receiver. This is a custom fit that offers a 2" x 2" opening. The part number is C31023. This is what our hitch is going to look like installed. As you can see, pretty clean appearance. As you can see, most of it remains hidden behind our front fascia, here. In the middle, we've got our 2-inch by 2-inch receiver tube opening. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado - Curt- Video

Today on our 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500, we'll be installing the Curt Front Mounted Hitch, part number 31108. Here's what our hitch will look like once installed. Next, we'll give you a couple of measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch, such as a snowplow, front mounted cargo carrier, or a wench. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the front edge of our bumper is 6 inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 12 inches. We'll now go ahead with the installation. To begin our install, we'll first need to remove the manufacturer's tow hooks. To do that, there are 3 fasteners for each, one on each side of the tow hook, and the rear fastener here at the bottom. As we remove the tow hook fasteners, we'll go ahead and set them aside as they will not be reinstalled, but we will reuse the manufacturer's tow hook. We'll go ahead and put the tow hook back in place over the attachment points. more

Front Mount Trailer Hitch Installation - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe - Curt- Video

Today on our 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe we'll be installing the CURT 2" front-mounted hitch, part number 31302. Now with our hitch already installed you can see it's nicely concealed behind the front fascia. The only thing sticking out is the receiver tube. It's got a 5/8 pinhole and a 2" by 2" receiver tube. This is a class three hitch. It has 500 pounds of tongue weight capacity and 5,000 pounds of tow capacity with a 9,000 line capacity. more

Today, on our 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we'll be installing a Draw-Tite Front Mounted two inch receiver with hitch, part number 65028. Here's what our hitch will look like once installed. Next, I'll give you a couple measurements to assist you selecting accessories for your hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer edge of the front bumper is five and three quarter inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 12 and half inches. This will assist you selecting accessories such as a snow plow, winch, or cargo carrier. To begin our install, we'll first go ahead and locate the manufacturer's tow hooks. We need to remove two fasteners on each. more

From the center of the hitch pin hold to the outermost edge of the front bumper, is 5 1/4 inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground, is 11 1/2 inches. This will assist your selecting accessories such as a ball mount, cargo carrier, or snow plow. Now we'll go ahead and show you how to install the hitch. Front Mount Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado- Video

Today on this 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Heavy Duty we are going to be installing front mount hitch part number 31109 from Curt. We are here looking at the passenger side frame rail. And you can see from the bottom we have got an existing bolt, an existing access hole, and then an existing regular sized hole as well. We are going to be fishing through the carried bolt block through this hole. We are going to pull it down into position using the fish wire that is provided with the installation kit. We are also going to be using this larger bolt here on the side of the frame. We are going to be removing it and replacing it with the new one that is provided in the installation kit. That is going to provide our vertical attachment point for the trailer hitch. more

Front Mount Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD- Video

Today we are going to show you an install on part number 65050. This is a front mount hitch and we are installing it on 07 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD. To begin our install we have to remove our license plate holder which is the square object in the center there. That has to come off and whats next is we have to cut a hole in the bumper so that the receiver can poke through. The plate is riveted on so we will have to drill out these rivets and just pop them off. What seems to work is grab the backside of the rivet with a pair of pliers and drill out the front and it comes right apart. Our next step is to start measuring so we can knock out our hole in the bumper. We are going to start with a common measurement. Basically we are going to start from this bolt right here. more
